In July of last year, Alexi performed in Montreal as the special guest of the Barr Brothers at Montreal Jazz Festival. Now that autumn and winter have passed, Alexi will be returning to Quebec this May for a handful of concerts. Nov 07 11 / European Tour Starts Tomorrow & Online Merch Sale
Thanks to all who came out to last month's US performances. There were
a good number of sold out shows and the tour ended on a musical high
note of collaboration at the Boulder Theatre on a dramatically snowy
night in Colorado.
This week Alexi begins two months of touring throughout Europe. We
announced these a while ago but two dates have been added: a
second show in Glasgow (first night is now sold out), and a date in
Munich. Also, This
is the Kit will open the shows
from November 8th to 15th, and November 24th to 26th.
And Gaspar
Claus will return to the stage
with Alexi to open in Berlin on December 7th.
Even now, several of these dates are already getting close to selling
out. We strongly recommend buying advance tickets for all
shows.

Alexi has just announced his most extensive series of live dates in the United Kingdom and Europe -- some might call it his first "proper" European tour. These dates will follow the short run of dates in the United States in October. Those US gigs will cover a handful of cities he was not able to visit when he was here in February and March. A small number of additional European shows & US appearances may be added to this routing over the next month.

Here is the cover to Alexi's new record, Towards The Sun. Please click on it for a bigger, crisper version of the image. There was a note on the MySpace for a long time encouraging people to "resist compression," and indeed the cover looks better when seen at full size.
It will be released March 8th in the US, and a bit later in Europe. Stay tuned for European release info.

Dec 2 10 / Reports from Berlin & New York
Lincoln Center has sold out of tickets for Alexi's New York concert as part of the American Songbook series on February 17th, 2011. Small blocks of tickets may be released closer to show time.
Alexi is hoping to perform a small handful of shows in America around the time of the New York date. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and sign-up for Alexi's email list so you are among the first to know.
We've also had some reports from Alexi's Berlin show which was part of City Slang's 20th Anniversary celebration. We are told the hall was lovely, the audience attentive, and the experience quite nice for all involved.
So, this is as good a time as any to announce that Alexi's new album, Towards the Sun, will be released on City Slang in Europe.

Nov 1 10 / First Berlin, then American Songbook 2011 at Lincoln Center
Alexi has been invited to perform at Lincoln Center in New York City on February 17, 2011 as part of the quite prestigious American Songbook Series. This will be Alexi's first show in 2011, and first North American show since 2009. You can purchase tickets as of today at www.americansongbook.org
Alexi will also make a quick return to Germany later this month performing as part of the City Slang label's 20th Anniversary festival weekend in Berlin. He plays on November 21, 2010 with Lambchop and Yo La Tengo and you can purchase tickets now at CitySlang.com. Other performers that weekend include The Notwist, Calexico, Tortoise, and Broken Social Scene.
